Gonstead Technique

The five components of the Gonstead technique is a popular approach to chiropractic care employed by the wellness professionals at Specific Clinic of Chiropractic. WE have years of experience providing Temple residents with the benefits of Gonstead technique adjustments. This approach to chiropractic care involves the use of various mechanisms to identify musculoskeletal disorders within each patient’s body. This exactness helps our chiropractor administer effective and appropriate treatment to keep you healthy. Following are the 5 components of the Gonstead technique.

Visualization

As the name suggests, this component is all about observation. Our chiropractor begins by observing you. Some of the signs our chiropractor may look out for include your body posture, the difference in your shoulders, hips, and how you walk. While these observations do not provide a full diagnosis, they are incredibly important in confirming the palpations and x-ray findings.

Palpation

Static palpation and Motion Palpation are both utilized in Gonstead Chiropractic to precisely pin point areas of involvement. Static palpationentails feeling your spine in a non-moving state, while motion palpation happens while you are moving. This component allows the chiropractor to identify changes in the tone, texture, contour, and temperature. Subluxations are also revealed in this stage.

Instrumentation

Typically, this component involves the use of a dual probe instrument known as a Nervoscope or Delta-T. This instrument gets a temperature comparison of your spine to identify inflamed parts. These are usually the spots you have nerve irritation. The instrument's readings show whether or not you have subluxations.

X-Rays

An x-ray will provide an accurate vertebral count and a whole spinal contour representation, enhancing posture analysis. Our chiropractor identifies other problems you could be having apart from the major complaints, which you cannot do with sectionals. All this information directs the specialists on how they will realign your spine and restore proper nervous system communication.
